Annual Frog Jumping Contest

The first Calaveras County, California Frog Jumping Contest, made world famous by renowned author Mark Twain, was held on May 19, 1928. It is still held every year and is the oldest event of its kind in the United States.

Our Frog Jump will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the ball field. Registration starts at 12 noon.

The ONLY RULES are:

There are no rules (Almost)
Just pretend you are twelve again and have fun (except for those under twelve who already know how).
Bring you own frog or use one of our specially selected and bred jumpers.
Trophies will be awarded in the following age groups:
  • 8 and under
  • 9 to 13
  • 14 to 18
  • Parents
