The Youth show is open to all persons ages 5 - 19. Goats do not have to be registered, however, animals will be checked by the show chairperson before being unloaded at the fairgrounds. Animals must be in good health and free from disease and sores. Entries should be sent to Sally Punik, and must be received by no later than August 10th. All exhibitors are required to participate in the showing and fitting classes. Entries should include: Name and address of breeder; phone number and/or email address; animal’s name; class number: animal’s age; animal’s breed. Breeds to be shown are: Alpine, Nigerian Dwarf, Recorded Grade, and all other breeds (including: boer, pigmy, lamancha, Nubian, oberhasli, saanen/sable, toggenburg). Junior does, Senior does, and wethers are eligible. No bucks allowed. Base date for age computation is August 28th, 2011. There are no entry fees. Participate in the special activities listed at the end of these rules. A herdsman award will be given to the exhibitor demonstrating: cleanliness of pen and pen area and overall cooperation. Exhibitors are encouraged to wear white in the show ring. Classes:
Wethers: Breeds of wethers will be shown at the same time according to age of goat. Classes: 1. Wethers age 0-12 monthsBreed show order: Recorded Grade, Nigerian Dwarf, AOB, Alpine Senior Dry Does (does not in milk ages 2 and up): 4. Does 2 & 3 yrs of ageJunior Does: 6. Kids 0-6 months of age.Senior Does (in milk): 9. Milkers under 2 yrs of age.Specialty Classes Specialty Classes will encompass all breeds at once in each class. The herd may consist of all breeds owned by the exhibitor. Entries are limited to one entry per exhibitor per class. Adults may help if necessary.Classes: 12.
